Discover Sighisoara

Sighisoara is the largest inhabited medieval fortress in Europe, a small town but a unique place visited by many tourists every year. Sighisoara is situated in the centre of Transylvania and is also known as the Medieval Pearl of Romania, being positioned on a hill, where long ago the Sighisoara Fortress was built.

The origins of Sighișoara date back to the 12th century, when German settlers—the Transylvanian Saxons—founded the city. Over the centuries, Sighișoara developed into an important center of trade and craftsmanship.
